Meet Our People

Nathalie H.

Q: How would you describe your current role at Itron?  What are you currently focused on?
A: I’m currently an Enterprise Client Executive, which is a role on our sales team dedicated to serving our largest utility customers. In this role, I’m focused on helping our utility customers solve their problems and connect them with our solutions that best serve them.

Q: How does Itron’s cultural value, collaboration, aid in your success at Itron?
A: Collaboration is the key to our mutual success here at Itron. Especially in a sales-focused role, I know that I’m not always the best person to answer our customers’ questions, but I always have a team member willing to jump in and support and vice versa.

Q: Effective collaboration can lead to better outcomes; what skills do you utilize to encourage this? (i.e., active listening, emotional intelligence, etc.)
A: As a woman, I believe we all possess special skills in emotional intelligence that are so critical in effective collaboration.  Solving our customers’ problems begins with listening closely to what they’re saying, both verbally and nonverbally.  I spend a lot of my time with customers not only listening but watching how they react to our solutions to understand what some of the underlying problems they don’t verbalize are and how we can ultimately help them achieve their goals.

Q: What advice do you have for other women in our industry?
A:
Being a woman in the utility industry can be a challenge, but one of the things I like to focus on is that we’re better together.  So often across the industry there’s a competitive aspect between employees—men and women—for different jobs or projects. But as women, we are most effective and successful when we help and support each other because there’s always room for the success of more women. My advice is to always look around you and ask for help when needed, and also to help other women in the same way you’d hope to receive help and support.

Q: How does your current role impact Itron’s purpose to build a more resourceful world?
A:
Utilities across the world are experiencing a dynamic shift in the industry and unprecedented challenges. With my role, I have the opportunity to connect with and educate utilities on how they can solve some of these challenges utilizing Itron products. Connecting utilities with our leading edge technology allows them to better serve their customers, therefore creating a more resourceful world for us all to live in.

Q: What gets you excited each day to show up to work at Itron?
A:
I have the pleasure of collaborating daily with fantastic coworkers and customers. That is always the most exciting part of my job.
